RED Team Manager - Cart, Checkout & Payments

Our technology focussed “RED Teams” are generally made up of product managers, software engineers and an analyst. Each team is focussed on a specific function of the business (e.g. inventory, CRM, transport, website discovery) and faces specific business stakeholders as “internal customers”. The goal is to provide specific software products to continuously improve business processes to serve our customers better.


Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of software engineers and has ownership of the RedMart ecommerce website, iOS, Android & mobile web apps for Cart, Checkout & Payments.. This team builds proprietary software systems, integrates with 3P systems and improves the customer’s checkout & ordering experience.  
  • Lead roadmap, feature planning, development & launching of projects that enhance the shopping, checkout & payment experience. .
  • Be responsible for delivering on key Customer KPIs including, but not limited to conversion rate. You’ll be expected to make a significant impact on these through deep process understanding, close relationships with your business counterparts, great product judgement, focused execution and frequent delivery.
  • Review and act upon Customer feedback & key KPIs by prioritizing the right features that are implemented & launched on time. Present weekly reports and monthly insight to all stakeholders showing the condition and performance along with opportunities for improvement.Prepare business cases in support of new initiatives, working with the VP, Consumer Apps
  • Liaise closely with other RED and operation teams, in order to represent the customer acquisition & retention aspects of business changes and new initiatives
  • Hire, develop and coach world class talent. Help them innovate, make an impact, continually improve at their job and grow in their careers.
  • Own the product roadmap and their development strategy, including prioritization and definition of implementation timeline
  • Coordinate external vendors and implementation partners as/when needed
  • Champion engineering and operational excellence. Lead your team to design, implement, test and run in production robust technical and process solutions that our 24/7 store and operations can rely on.

  • Track record of building and leading great development teams through hiring and coaching. Experience leading cross-functional teams a plus.
  • Track record of successfully delivering multi-stakeholder projects that marry technology, people, equipment and process in on-the-ground operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with our tech stack is a plus, but not required.


You will have strong communication (written/verbal). You will also need to be willing to do what it takes to get the job done, have a strong systems thinking perspective and have creative problem solving & analytical skills.


Basic Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred
  • People management and development experience
  • Project/product/business improvement experience
  • Data analytics skills that allow you to find relevant answers in data
  • Able to work independently and work under minimum supervision


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experienced working with tracking & Analytics software such as GA, MixPanel, Tableau.
  • Extensive project management and stakeholder management experience
  • Experience with Analytics platforms a plus
  • Ability to develop and report on a multi-source attribution model
  • Experience with Payment gateway integrations a plus
  • Experience in structured experimentation
  • Startup and eCommerce experience
  • Prior Product Management experience
