RedMart is seeking a dynamic and motivated Business Acquisition Executive in Singapore to conduct sales for the RedMart Marketplace business. The Executive will integrate a team focused on identifying, targeting, and marketing Redmart Marketplace to Sellers of all sizes to grow the Seller’s business online.

This person will be responsible for implementing category specific sales strategies, in Singapore, spearheading strategic relationships while  locating, targeting and pitching to and managing a pipeline of prospective Sellers comprised of a mix of both high value and transactional Sellers.

The Executive will also effectively execute on strategies to market to these Sellers the benefits of selling their products through RedMart’s marketplace to provide local marketing support to the Redmart Marketplace business in meeting its new seller account acquisition and output goals. Specifically, this individual will personally handle Sellers located in Singapore throughout the initial new Seller onboarding process as well as make sure the products go live complying to RedMart Marketplace standards.  

The candidate will work cross-functionally with merchandising, product, marketing and operations teams (as well as others as needed).

The ideal candidate will need to be agile in their approach and able to deal successfully with contacts at all levels while discussing the selling on Redmart Marketplace value proposition. Specifically, this person will be responsible not only for identifying, marketing to, and managing a pipeline of prospective merchants, but also supporting high value projects to help expand our selection.

Additional projects include working closely with other RedMart product teams, category managers, and all other internal stakeholders in order to provide support in scaling our selling outreach and bringing unique selection to RedMart platform. As the team grows and the role develops, we expect the candidate to lead and mentor a talented team, driving operational excellence, scaling processes, and delivering high class marketing results to the RedMart Marketplace.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, market and cultivate Seller’s commitment to the Selling on Redmart program.
  • Analyze customer data and make recommendations to the RedMart Marketplace business.
  • Execute successfully on the sales plan recommended.
  • Use these metrics to guide your work and uncover hidden areas of opportunity.
  • Serve as an informational liaison to RedMart’s legal team during contract negotiations with prospective customers.
  • Prospect business leads and quickly bring their products live to assist the Marketplace business in achieving its quarterly quota targets for both the quantity and quality of local sellers recruited.
  • Manage the day to day activities as well as assist in establishing the  broader business direction for the local marketing business.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the e-commerce industry and competitive environment including knowledge of competitive product offerings and international markets.
  • Prioritize and complete additional projects while continuing to market the RedMart Marketplace business to prospective new Sellers such as mentorship, competitive analysis, and marketplace analysis.
  • Meet or exceed marketing targets and operational metrics.
  • Manage numerous opportunities concurrently and strategically.
  • Create and articulate compelling value propositions around the Marketplace product to Sellers
  • Engage with merchants to understand their needs and gauge fit with the RedMart Services product set.
  • Develop a clear understanding of the Selling on RedMart products along with the features and functionalities.
  • Support internal partners in driving change, removing roadblocks and increasing participation by local Sellers with respect to the RedMart Marketplace business.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of successful sales or account management experience, preferably in the eCommerce, retail technology, or software industries.
  • Demonstrated success in exceeding marketing targets using a consultative, solutions-focused approach.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to manipulate data.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and deal with ambiguity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • Proven ability to influence others.
  • Ability to work with legal, product, and internal business owners to reach mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Global e-commerce experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office or equivalent.
  • Success managing large account portfolios.
  • Track record of successfully scaling business campaigns.
  • Experience of working in Asia (Southeast Asia exposure).
