Senior HR Business Partner - Transport and Customer Service

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is an integral part of the HR team and our organization. In this role, the HRBP partners the operation teams of Transport, Last Mile Delivery and Customer Service Call Centre.

Scope and responsibilities

  • Work with Business Leaders, HR Directors and Chief People Officer to drive relevant HR strategies in Operations of Transport, Last Mile Delivery and Customer Service Call Centre.
  • Have a constant presence in Transport operations to understand the Voice of Drivers and develop engagement initiatives, being a trusted member of the Operations team.
  • Engage Customer Service teams at the call centre on a regular basis to develop measures for developing and retaining CS agents. Plan, execute and track key activities that deliver impact.
  • Observe operations workflow and recommend policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Manage employee-relations issues, supporting formal appeals and hearings including liaising with MOM, while simultaneously coaching the relevant managers on management best practices.
  • Respond to disciplinary, safety and security issues and administer the company policies.
  • Detect potential issues within the workforce and address with the respective parties.
  • Deliver training and development to managers and supervisors.
  • Drive the performance management programs, identify talent gaps and develop internal candidate pipelines.
  • Coordinate and follow-up on the manpower plan. Identify gaps and work closely with Talent Acquisition teams to fill vacant positions.
  • Establish shift-based work patterns and review periodically based on feedback and effectiveness.
  • Answer general HR questions and resolves issues in a timely manner.
  • Process and maintain updates in HRIS.
  • Analyze HR key metrics, develop continuous employee feedback mechanisms and use data to develop HR interventions and process improvements.
  • Work closely with the HR team on projects to implement the HR strategy.

Skills and qualifications required

  • Minimum Diploma, University Degree preferred.
  • At least 4 years of previous experience in a HR business partnering job within an operations environment (warehouse, manufacturing, shipping, etc.)
  • Expected 30% local travel at Dispatch centres/ cross docks islandwide to engage Transport teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore Employment Law (including the Employment Act)
  • Must have experience working with diverse population of employees (operational staff with work permits and SPasses, professionals with EPs, SPass and managerial employees)
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication skills to be able to interact at all levels of the organisation
  • Fully competent in MS Office, with strong knowledge and use of Excel
