The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is a senior role and is an integral part of the HR team and our organization. In this role, the HRBP will drive the people agenda across a variety of our Practice areas that includes Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Procurement and new business units. The Senior HRBP will play a pivotal role in setting up new Business Units from ground-up. The role interacts with office-based employees (non-operations).

The HRBP will handle generalist responsibilities and will also work closely with the Chief People Officer and HR Director to create and drive the people agenda across the Practice areas.

Scope and responsibilities

  • Support Leaders to set up new business units by supporting the people agenda.
  • Work closely with Business Leaders, HR Directors and Chief People Officer to drive a talent program across the Practice areas, to include identification of top talent and the overall career development of associates for which the HRBP is responsible.
  • Have a constant presence with the Practice areas to develop engagement initiatives, being a trusted member of the business teams.
  • Develop, implement, and facilitate training and development initiatives to meet the specific business needs of the organization.
  • Drive the organisation performance management process, including calibration of talent across a variety of different Practice groups, and updating the HRIS.
  • Partner with hiring managers to assess talent gaps and plan to meet those talent gaps through internal development plans and externally through the Talent Acquisition team.
  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition, L&OD and Rewards team on a regular basis to work on initiatives to attract, develop and retain people.
  • Plan and manage key employee-experience processes for the Practice areas - for example: onboarding, engagement, development, performance management, off-boarding.
  • Provide guidance and input on workforce planning, business unit restructures, and succession planning, ensuring that core HR processes are applied appropriately and in a legally compliant manner.
  • Manage employee-relations issues, while simultaneously coaching the relevant managers on management best practices.
  • Answer general HR questions for the Practice areas and resolves issues in a timely manner.
  • Process and maintain updates in HRIS.
  • Analyze HR key metrics, develop continuous employee feedback mechanisms and use data to develop HR interventions and process improvements.
  • Work closely with the HR team on projects to implement the HR strategy.

Skills and qualifications required

  • Minimum Diploma, University Degree preferred.
  • At least 4 years of HR Business Partnering experience for a technology firm or a fast-paced business.
  • Minimum 2 years in a senior HR Business Partnering role.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce organisations and the retail business landscape.
  • Strategic mindset with an analytical rigor on people metrics that inform business strategy.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication skills to be able to interact at all levels of the organisation.
  • Fully competent in MS Office, with strong knowledge and use of Excel
